The "Avatar" is a virtual self-presentation installation, which was made with various imaging techniques, and with technological support of the Computer and Automation Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA SZTAKI) and C3 Center for Culture and Communication.
In the pre-production period, Second Life - an online virtual world community game which players playing as an avatar (a dolphin, ball, flower etc.) - has been a huge success in the world. While a part of the world lived a second life with the chosen character / object in the virtual space; the artist was increasing interest in our existing digital information in background. She realized that we all have fragmentary data of medical purposes in the digital space, which are able to create a virtual body; she concentrated how it could be use this information to make her own avatar. This artwork is showing the process of building an entire virtual body. For the preparation she used all the test information obtained - x-rays, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, CT ray beam mappings - and data recorded by the country's only 3D scanner, which resulted in a moving digital collage and representing a human being.
"Avatar" was presented at Solo Exhibition, C3 Gallery, Budapest
