Stella

Light Study, Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza, Rome
2026, 160 × 280 cm, artist-developed image-making process, sublimation print on textile

'Stella' is based on an image captured in the courtyard of Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza in Rome. In this unique setting, the viewer stands simultaneously beneath the open sky and within an architectural space. Rather than depicting the building itself, the work transforms the colours and light conditions of the courtyard into an autonomous image.
Composed of subtle colour fields that dissolve into one another, the image evokes the luminous atmosphere of stained-glass windows. The title refers both to the Sun as a star and to Borromini's recurring star motif, which appears throughout the architecture of Sant'Ivo.

The work was created using a custom-developed image-making process based on the unique characteristics of the original source image. The resulting composition cannot be recreated from another source image or reproduced through the same process, making each work a singular, irreproducible visual event.
