'Story Generator' is a prototype action movie system that transforms linear sequences of events into a 3-dimensional space, making fragments of time visible simultaneously. This approach allows the viewer to observe and navigate the story spatially, revealing logical connections between concurrent happenings in different contexts.
The project began with analyzing action movies, mapping characters as nodes and their interactions as paths, and combining elements from multiple films to create a dynamic narrative structure. The program, written for Linux using the Coin 3D library and Blender models, calculates everything in real time, granting users complete freedom of movement within the movie world. While the events are currently fixed, the ultimate goal is a fully generative system where user input (e.g., number and type of characters, actions, outcomes) could produce virtually infinite narrative scenarios.
This work demonstrates how computational methods can visualize complex, interconnected story structures, bridging artistic experimentation and scientific approaches to network visualization.
